Notes: This is a three-person renhai. The middle verse (by Vaughn) was first written based on linking criteria provided by the other two writers (Shanna and Gillena). A theme was then chosen and the first and third verses were then written using the pre-established links.

"We beat" Festival: fliers and banners are put up for "we beat", heralding the St James "We Beat" Festival. "We beat" in St James, Trinidad is a festival which occurs in early summer, that is, at the start of the rainy Season. It begins in the last week of May, and continues for nine days and nine nights.
