Notes: Jerry's granddad used to say that the frogs have to "die" (become dormant) three times before the frost-free season will arrive. More often that not this rule-of-thumb seems to work out where you'll first hear the frogs and then it'll get cold again and you won't here them again for up to seven days or so. This will happen about three times before the late spring season gets under way in earnest.
